ElBaradei excuses Iran and accuses RomaniaRoxana Iordache – Ziua – read here -
Mohamed AlBaradei, chief of the International Atomic Energy Agency, is out of the blue pointing to Romania and claiming it is one of the states where a danger such a terrorism may come from, more threateningly than ever ! But he has been minimizing this danger so far. Even when explaining it, he would suggest that the terrorists were just a reflex of self-defense against aggressing America. It is also the reason why Mr. ElBaradei was awarded the Nobel for Peace, usually a prize for the left, more precisely for the anti-American left. There is also Al Gore, a perfect illustration of the "Blame America First" theory of the radical left”.

Romanian President dismisses Liberal Norica NicolaiCristian Andrei – Ziua – read here -
A letter by the President of Romania Traian Basescu reached Romanian PM Calin Popescu-Tariceanu yesterday, demanding him to give up his recommendation that Liberal Norica Nicolai should be appointed a minister of Justice. The PM was also asked to recommend a politically independent person to take over the Ministry of Justice. The President motivated his refusal by invoking the negative public perception of Norica Nicolai's deeds, claiming that to appoint her a minister would just make national and international distrust in Romanian Justice grow. The President reminded the story with a niece of Liberal Nicolai voting instead of the latter in the Parliament and he argued: "Given the need to confirm by facts the political will to build and consolidate an independent Justice, I dare suggest an uncontroversial candidate, able to get respect professionally, as well as from citizens or in the relations with magistrates, a politically independent person" “.

Social-Democrats get ready for warD.I. – Ziua – read here -
A small number of party leaders got together the day before yesterday to talk about the party's future and Mircea Geoana tried to see the vice president's opinions in the early 2008. The National Council is a hot issue for the Social-Democrats, which will decide the way the PSD will act this electoral year. The 'praetorian guard" faithful to Ion Iliescu is starting to react against Mircea Geoana's policy, no longer accepting the party's distancing from the traditional electorate. They are trying to impose their point of view, threatening Mircea Geoana that otherwise they will cause significant tensions right before elections. Ion Iliescu himself announced on his birthday that he would be trying to define the role of the left, without hesitating to get into dispute with his party colleagues”.
